Quick Overview

The first book in the “The Kingkiller Chronicle” is told in Kvothe’s, an enigmatic tale!. The opening voice talks of an old and famous wizard, known as Taborlin the Great. The narrator says that he was captured by the evil beings, known as the Chandrian. Having escaped, Taborlin fell from a great height, but since he knew the name Wind, he called upon it and it landed him safely.
Somewhere in a rural town of Newarre, we are introduced to the innkeeper Kote and his assistant Bast and at last, we learn that Kote is the famous Kvothe.
Bast, Kvothe’s assistant and student is Fae’s prince. Later on, Kvothe manages to save Chronicler, a traveling scribe from the Scrael creatures. Chronicler asks for Kvothe’s story, but responds by confirming how that would require three days.
As Kvothe begins his story, we are intrigued by the breathtaking, yet frightening story of how he lived a happy childhood, only to grow up in another realm of reality .
